This publication contains the revised Local Content Strategy for SIIP, to be implemented in Phase 2 (2026 to end of 2027). The Strategy represents SIIP’s approach to maximising opportunities to involve and strengthen the Solomon Islands’ private sector as part of delivering the program. This Strategy combines the Local Content and Capacity Development Strategies developed in 2022.

The revised Strategy deepens SIIP’s approach to mainstreaming of local content in its infrastructure projects and expands targeted activities to strengthen the local construction sector (companies and suppliers). SIIP will develop a separate high-level plan around the program’s institutional support to the Solomon Islands Government, primarily Ministry of Infrastructure Development. This will be driven by Solomon Islands Government policy priorities (e.g. new National Building Code) and will draw links to this Local Content Strategy.
