The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and management of SIIP building infrastructure activities, and the project managers tasked to specific projects. This will include a markets redevelopment program and the Naha Birthing Clinic and Urban Health Centre (BUHC).
The Senior Project Manager will provide advice to DFAT, Solomon Islands Government (SIG), SIIP management team and stakeholders regarding all aspects of delivery of infrastructure projects.
About You
You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area such as: Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Surveying, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Extensive professional experience in infrastructure project delivery/management.
- Thorough understanding of the building infrastructure delivery challenges in Solomon Islands or similar country.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage infrastructure project managers, design consultants and subcontractors.
- Strong stakeholder engagement experience with proven ability to develop effective relationships, including senior government, community and private sector stakeholders.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, capacity development and skills transfer activities.
- Understanding of, and demonstrated commitment to, gender equality and social inclusion.

Project Manager - Markets
Honiara, Solomon Islands
The Project Manager – Markets (PM-M) is responsible for overall coordination and management of selected markets within the SIIP market redevelopment project. The project involves the staggered delivery of 7 or more markets by the SIIP Hub, in locations across Solomon Islands. This long-term project is a priority of the SIIP Steering Committee and planning commenced in July 2021. Intermittent domestic travel to provincial market sites will be required.
The PM-M will assist the Senior Project Manager – Building Infrastructure (SPM–BI) and Deputy Team Leader – Infrastructure (DTL-I) in providing advice to DFAT, Solomon Islands Government (SIG), SIIP management team and stakeholders regarding all aspects of delivery of the markets project.

Contract Liaison Manager

The Contractor Liaison Manager (CLM) shall lead in the provision of wrap-around support for national contractors, being the focal point for mentoring and longer-term capacity building of contractors to improve their contract implementation.
About You

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area such as: Civil Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline, OR extensive hands-on experience with national contractors as an infrastructure project manager in the Solomon Islands or similar developing country in the Pacific Region.

Construction Supervisor
Honiara, Solomon Islands
To support the goals of SIIP, the Australian Government is providing assistance to carry out construction of a new AUD40m Health Centre. An experienced professional with skills in managing the construction phase of a similar size project is required to join the project team to undertake contractor oversight and contract administration activities as works on site progress. The Construction Supervisor will be present on site to ensure the project is delivered to the required quality and safety requirements. They will work closely with the PM - Health, Design Manager, Contracts Administrator and HSE Manager.
About You
You will have:
- Significant construction management and supervision experience on large social infrastructure projects within the Pacific Region
- Degree in project/construction management, civil engineering or other relevant qualification
- Experience in undertaking contract administration of Australian Standard contracts or similar (eg AS4000) and managing quality of work to Australian Standards
- Experience in practical procurement and management of goods, works and services contracts in infrastructure/construction projects
- Experience in managing, on the client’s behalf, consultants and sub-contractors
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with contractors, sub-contractors and stakeholders, strong interpersonal skills
- Understanding of, and commitment to, capacity development and skills transfer activities including demonstrated experience providing colleagues with advice and mentoring
- Strong understanding of the issues and challenges relating to the construction sector in the Pacific
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
